Step into The Mandarin's House, part of the UNESCO-listed Historic Centre of Macau and the largest surviving traditional residential complex in the city, and enjoy a special theatrical performance of 'Before Breakfast' (approx. 30 minutes). This intriguing one-act play, penned by Nobel Prize-winning American playwright Eugene O'Neill in 1916, is presented by students from the Macao Conservatory's School of Theatre. The play is driven by the monologue of a woman berating her silent off-stage husband, revealing deep-seated family issues.
The Mandarin's House is a unique architectural landmark that boasts the largest scale of traditional Guangdong residential features blended with Western architectural influences.
