About the Performance
A rare opportunity in Macau to experience a Baroque opera, considered an artistic treasure of the Baroque period, renowned for its unique elegance and refinement.
Johann Sebastian Bach's "Coffee Cantata," composed between approximately 1732 and 1735, is essentially a miniature comic opera and one of Bach's most beloved works. Originally titled Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht (literally "Be quiet, stop chattering"), it is better known by its nickname, the "Coffee Cantata" (BWV 211).
This production was a sold-out success for two consecutive shows in Guangzhou. Now, for the first time, the orchestra brings this classic to the Macau stage, combining elegant music with theatrical performance to present a unique audio-visual feast.
