About the Performance
Bang on a Can All-Stars is a groundbreaking electric chamber ensemble from Brooklyn, New York, that defies traditional music categories. Since 1992, they have pioneered "new music" by fusing contemporary, classical, electronic, jazz, folk, indie pop, and visual arts into a thrilling, innovative style. Hailed as "America's most important vehicle for contemporary music" by the San Francisco Chronicle, they have collaborated with world-renowned artists like Yo-Yo Ma, Tan Dun, Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Brian Eno, and Bob Dylan.
Concert Highlight: Field Recordings (Asia Premiere)
The centerpiece of their Macao debut is the multimedia project Field Recordings. This experimental work reimagines a century of recorded sounds—from machine noises and soprano voices to Hollywood film scores—by weaving them with specially commissioned live music, creating a unique electro-acoustic dance piece.
