Macao was designated a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2017. This edition of 'Art Macao' brings together multiple UNESCO Creative Cities to present the 'Creative Cities Pavilion'. The pavilion is curated by Macao poet, translator, and curator Yao Feng, featuring four exhibitions centered on Macao (City of Gastronomy), Nanjing (City of Literature), Wuhan (City of Design), and Linz (City of Media Arts).
The exhibition 'Macao: City of Gastronomy – Let's Eat!' uses Macao's unique and diverse food culture as a starting point. It invites 16 artists to explore the relationship between food, local culture, and history through their individual artistic practices.
The exhibition is divided into four parts: 'The Feast of Mirror Sea', 'Boats for Food', 'Eating is a Blessing', and 'Time-Space Roaming'. Come and savor this rich visual feast through on-site installation images!
To protect public health, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has arranged cleaning and disinfection for all venues prior to opening. Crowd control measures remain in effect. Visitors must cooperate with on-site crowd management, wear their own masks, undergo temperature checks, and present their daily health code. After entering, visitors should also maintain personal and environmental hygiene, keep a social distance from others, and cooperate with the SAR government's epidemic prevention measures.
