The 9th Oxfam Tower Run Macau Tower is now open for registration! This fundraising stair-climbing challenge takes place at Macau's tallest building, the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre. Participants race up 1,298 steps to the 61st-floor adventure activity level, a journey that takes about 20 minutes—symbolizing the time climate change forces Qinghai herders to walk to find water, and four times longer than drought-affected communities in East Africa must travel for drinking water.
Multiple pandemic prevention measures will be implemented for this year's event. The organizer will continue to monitor the latest developments and adjust measures accordingly to ensure the safety of all sponsors, participants, volunteer groups, and staff.
Since its inception in 2014, the Oxfam Tower Run has garnered strong support from athletes in Hong Kong and Macau. The event raises awareness and funds to support Oxfam's work combating poverty exacerbated by climate change.
