Overview
Join children and youth from over 60 countries worldwide in the Design for Change (DFC) Challenge! Participants become 'change-makers' by navigating the four DFC steps: Feel, Imagine, Do, and Share. Submit a report, presentation, or video showcasing your detailed journey. Outstanding participants may unlock a 'secret level,' representing Macao at the world's largest youth exchange event to connect with global peers, broaden horizons, and collectively change the world.
Key Details
- Target Participants: Macao residents (permanent and non-permanent) aged 6 to 17.
- Format: Participate individually or in groups of up to 5 members, guided by 1 to 2 adults responsible for coordination.
- Registration Deadline: April 15, 2019
- Submission Deadline: April 30, 2019
- Results Announcement: Winners will be notified in June 2019.
- 8th DFC Creative Sharing Conference & Experience: July 2019 (details to be announced).
- Overseas Exchange: Second half of 2019 (details to be announced).
The DFC Challenge Process
- Feel: Observe people and things from different perspectives to explore underlying problems or desired goals.
- Imagine: Use creative freedom to devise innovative solutions or improvements.
- Do: Gather necessary resources and spend one week implementing the action plan.
- Share: Share your actions and joy with others to inspire more people to join the change.

Submission Requirements
- Language: Submissions must be in Chinese or English.
- Content: Must include project title, team name, and a clear explanation of how the four challenge steps were executed.
- Documentation: Record the entire process of the four steps through photos, videos, audio, or written records.
- Format: Submit as a video (3–5 minutes, MP4 format), presentation (PPT or PPTX), or report (DOC, DOCX, or PDF).
Rewards for Completing DFC
- Opportunity to represent Macao at the world's largest children and youth exchange event. The organizer will notify details and conduct selections between May and June 2019.
- Outstanding performers will share their change stories at the 8th DFC Creative Sharing Conference.
- All participants will receive an internationally recognized certificate of participation.
