Purpose

The 8th Give Us A Tune English Singing Contest is a competition for young Macau residents, aiming to gather talented individuals with a passion for singing and provide a platform to showcase their talent and meet like-minded people.

• Organizer: Macao New Chinese Youth Association
• Sponsors: Macao Foundation, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau
• Target Participants: Macau residents aged 16 to 45 with valid identification.
• Entry Format: Individual or team (maximum 4 members per team).
• Registration Fee: MOP 30 per unit (individual/group).

• Registration Period: May 24 to June 28, 2015
• Submission Period (for materials): June 29 to July 6, 2015

• After online registration, contestants must visit the MNCYA office to pay the entry fee.

• One 1.5-inch ID photo.
• Background music track in MP3 format (no backing vocals).

• Champion: MOP 5,000 cash prize and certificate.
• 1st Runner-up (亞軍): MOP 4,000 cash prize and certificate.
• 2nd Runner-up (季軍): MOP 3,000 cash prize and certificate.
• Award for Good English Pronunciation: MOP 1,000 cash prize and certificate.
• Award for Popularity: MOP 1,000 cash prize and certificate.
• Award for Best Stage Demeanor: MOP 1,000 cash prize and certificate.

Evaluation Criteria

Judges will assess contestants based on:

• Singing skills
• Stage demeanor
• Emotional expression
• English pronunciation

General Rules

1. Songs must be performed in English only.
2. Contestants must supply their own background track (MP3, no backing vocals) and ID photo by the deadline.
3. Once submitted, song changes are not allowed without an acceptable reason.
4. The competition sessions will be recorded by authorized production.
5. Songs with vulgar, explicit, discriminatory, or hateful lyrics are prohibited. The organizer reserves the right to make final decisions.
6. The judges' decisions are final and binding.
7. Performance order for the preliminary round will be decided by lottery. Contestants must check in on time; latecomers may be disqualified.
8. The organizer reserves the right to interpret all rules and regulations.
9. A cappella performances are not accepted.
