Purpose

To encourage Macau youth to further improve their English proficiency, provide more opportunities for young people to learn English, and offer a platform for participants to showcase their talents. The event aims to stimulate personal potential while teaching interpersonal skills and expanding social networks.

Eligibility & Format

• Target Participants: Macau residents aged 16 to 45 holding a valid Macau Resident Identity Card.
• Entry Format: Individual or team (maximum 4 members per team).
• Competition Format:
  • Preliminary Round: Elimination system.
  • Final Round: Battle system.

Schedule & Venues

• Preliminary Round: July 20, 2014 (Sunday) at 14:00, New Tribe 2, Taipa.
• Final Round: September 9, 2014 (Tuesday) at 19:00, Small Theatre, Macao Cultural Centre.

• Registration Period: May 31 to June 22, 2014.
• Registration Fee: MOP 30 per entry (individual or team).

Judging Criteria

Based on vocal technique, performance style, stage presence, emotional expression, and English pronunciation.

Prizes

• Champion (1): MOP 4,000 cash + trophy.
• 1st Runner-up (1): MOP 2,500 cash + trophy.
• 2nd Runner-up (1): MOP 1,000 cash + trophy.
• Most Standard English Pronunciation Award (1): MOP 500 cash + trophy.
• Best Popularity Award (1): MOP 500 cash.
• Best Stage Presence Award (1): Trophy.

Invited professionals from academic and music circles.

Competition Rules (Summary)

1. Songs must be in English.
2. Photos and backing tracks (MP3) must be submitted by the deadline.
3. Song changes are not accepted without valid reason.
4. Preliminary round will be recorded and highlights may be posted online.
5. Vulgar songs are prohibited; organizers reserve final song selection rights.
6. Judges' decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
7. Performance order is determined by organizers or draw.
8. Organizers reserve the right to modify the rules and hold final interpretation.
