Overview
An annual competition organized to cultivate students' interest in brush calligraphy, improve their skills, and promote Chinese culture. The event features on-the-spot writing sessions across multiple age and skill groups.

- Competition Dates: March 15–16, 2014
- Venue: Hou Kong Middle School (Main Campus)
- Eligibility: Students from Primary 4 up to tertiary level currently studying in Macao schools.
Competition Schedule
- March 15 (Saturday): 18:30–20:30 (Senior Secondary Graduates Session)
- March 16 (Sunday):
- Session 1: 08:15–10:15 (Junior Secondary, Tertiary, Open Group)
- Session 2: 10:45–12:45 (Primary, Senior Secondary Groups)

- Open Group (P4 to Tertiary)
Format & Rules
- On-the-spot writing within a 2-hour time limit.
- Script style is not restricted.
- Competition paper is provided; participants must bring their own brush and ink.
- Specific paper types and writing requirements vary by group (e.g., tracing for Primary, freehand for others, using specific paper sizes like Xuan paper).
- Strict rules apply: no tracing, no drafting with hard pens, no use of pre-inked grid paper, and no use of sign pens.
- Participants must bring their student ID or ID card (for groups).
Awards
Each group will have Special Merit, First Prize, Second Prize, and Selection awards. Awards may be withheld if entries do not meet the required standard.
Registration
- Deadline: February 24, 2014
- Fees: MOP 10 for members, MOP 12 for non-members. Group registration of 25+ qualifies for member rate.
- Methods:
- Individual: Online registration form.
- Group/School: Download the group form and email to [email protected].
- Limits: Each person can only join one group. Each school is limited to 50 entries for the Primary Tracing subgroup.
- After registration, participants will be notified to collect their competitor pass and pay the fee.

- Winning works (Special Merit and First Prize) will be exhibited at an awards ceremony and exhibition (details TBD).
- All submitted works will not be returned.
