Event Overview
The 2nd Inter-School Historical & Cultural Creative Research Competition invites secondary school students from Macau and Zhongshan to explore and document historical architecture through multimedia production. The competition aims to cultivate students' research skills, innovative thinking, and appreciation for their city's cultural heritage.
Competition Details
- Theme: Historical Architecture
- Format: Multimedia video production (8–20 minute short film)
- Eligibility: Secondary school students from Macau and Zhongshan. Participants can enter individually or in teams of up to 4, guided by 1–2 teachers.
- Submission Requirements:
- MPG1 format video with Chinese subtitles, submitted on CD.
- A 500-word Chinese design concept and content outline printed on A4 paper.
Key Dates & Process
- Registration Deadline: June 26, 2015
- Training & Briefing: July – August 2015
- Field Research Exchange: Visits to Zhongshan, Guangzhou, and Shunde (July–August)
- Submission Deadline: September 6, 2015
- Judging Period: September 7–21, 2015
- Awards Ceremony: Mid-October 2015 (Sunday)
- Results Announcement: After the awards ceremony via major newspapers and the organizer's Facebook page.
- Post-Competition Campus Lectures: Winners will be invited to share their work in schools across Macau and Zhongshan from October to December 2015.
Prizes (Awarded separately for Macau and Zhongshan zones)
- Champion (2 teams): MOP 3,000
- First Runner-up (2 teams): MOP 2,000
- Second Runner-up (2 teams): MOP 1,000
- Merit Award (10 teams): MOP 300
- Finalist Award (multiple teams): Certificate
Judging Criteria
- Creative Concept & Execution (30%): Camera work, shooting/editing techniques, effects, music/sound appropriateness.
- Story Content (40%): Logical structure, watchability, promotability, creativity, clarity, and engagement.
- Theme Relevance (20%): How well the video aligns with the theme.
- Video Quality (10%): Visual presentation, clarity, and texture.
Important Notes
- Submitted works will not be returned; teams may keep copies.
- The copyright of winning entries belongs to the organizers for promotional use.
- All entries must be original, unpublished, and not submitted to other competitions.
- The organizers reserve the right to modify rules and disqualify entries.
Venues & Locations
- Activities and research will take place in Macau and Zhongshan.
- The Awards Ceremony will be held at the Macao Museum Lecture Hall.
