Event Overview

The 2nd 'I Am a Reading Ambassador' Competition is a major cultural event aimed at promoting reading culture. Guided by Guangdong Xinhua Bookstore's Siyue Research and Study program, the competition is organized by the China-Australia Youth Culture Association and receives strong support from the Macao Foundation, the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macao, and the Macao Science Centre.

Theme & Mission

This year's theme is 'Seeking Roots in Chinese Classics, Passing on the Legacy with You'. The event upholds the concept of 'Reading Enriches Life', aiming to cultivate reading habits among citizens, leverage the educational power of storytelling, and apply knowledge in practice. The goal is to create Macao's most influential and professional competition dedicated to the era of nationwide reading.

Competition Format & Features

• Unique Format: Combines 'Book Introduction', 'Reading Appreciation & Creative Reproduction', and 'Oral Book Recommendation'.
• Process: Participants undergo a series of professional training sessions before competing.
• Objectives: Promote reading culture, enhance participants' literary appreciation and public speaking skills, and discover excellent books to recommend to the public.
• Cultural Focus: Deeply explores Chinese classical studies to inherit and promote traditional Chinese culture.
