The Huading Awards, hailed as "an honor different from the Oscars," "the Global Audience Word-of-Mouth Award," and "the choice of 1.3 billion Chinese people," were founded in 2006. Primarily established to promote the prosperity of Chinese arts and culture, disseminate Chinese culture, and commend performing artists who have made outstanding contributions to Chinese-language culture, the awards are a public opinion survey competition.
