The Hope Cup International Mathematics Invitational is a prestigious international math competition for students aged 7-18. The competition consists of two stages: Regional Rounds and the Global Peak Challenge.
Competition Structure:
- Regional Round (Individual Competition): Held on April 19, 2026. Participants compete in their respective age groups with multiple-choice or fill-in-the-blank questions.
- Global Peak Challenge: Top performers from the regional round qualify to represent their region in the international finals held in Macao from August 4-6, 2026.
Age Groups & Duration:
- Hope Cup 2 (Grades 1-2 / Age 7-8): 60 minutes, 25 questions
- Hope Cup 4 (Grades 3-4 / Age 9-10): 90 minutes, 25 questions
- Hope Cup 6 (Grades 5-6 / Age 11-12): 90 minutes, 25 questions
- Hope Cup 8 (Grades 7-8 / Age 13-14): 90 minutes, 25 questions
- Hope Cup A (Grades 9-12 / Age 15-18): 90 minutes, 25 questions
Awards:
- Gold (Top 5%): Qualifies for Global Peak Challenge
- Silver (Top 10%): Qualifies for Global Peak Challenge
- Bronze (Top 15%): Qualifies for Global Peak Challenge
- Merit Award (Top 20%): Eligible as alternates for Global Peak Challenge
- All participants receive a certificate of participation and a Mathematical Ability Assessment Report.
- Awards also available for teachers and schools.
Registration: Open until April 13, 2026. Fee: 300 HKD/MOP. Includes free pre-competition training materials and online learning resources.
