Overview
The 7th Huacan Award: Cross-Strait Emerging Design Competition aims to explore new paths for integrated development across the Taiwan Strait, deepen economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation, promote interaction among young people from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, and foster win-win cooperation in cultural creativity and related industries.

Competition Format
The Huacan Award operates on a two-tier system: Regional Competitions and the Grand Final.
- Regional Competitions: There are 10 regions, including 7 in Mainland China and Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. Submissions from the Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan regions proceed directly to the Grand Final.
- Grand Final: Works that qualify for the final round participate in the final judging.

- Grand Final Judging: October 2021
- Award Ceremony: November 2021

How to Enter
- Visit the official Huacan Award website: http://www.huacanjiang.com/home.
- Enter the registration system and click on the Macau region to register.
- Ensure all information is accurate and complete. Information cannot be changed after winning.
- Incomplete submissions will be disqualified without notice.
Grand Final Prizes
- Grand Prize (2 winners): RMB 50,000 each + assistance with patent applications in Mainland China.
- First Prize (20 winners): RMB 4,000 each.
- Second Prize (80 winners): RMB 2,000 each.
- Third Prize (200 winners): RMB 800 each.
- Excellence Award (500 winners): Certificate only.
- Excellent Instructor Award: For instructors of student works that win third prize or above.
- Excellent Organization Award: For units with outstanding contributions to organizing participation.
Additional Benefits for Finalists
- Membership in the "Cross-Strait Youth Design Service Platform" and opportunity for free residency at Huacan Workshop co-working spaces in Beijing, Chengdu, and Zhuhai.
- Access to entrepreneurial services: virtual registration, startup coaching, investment incubation, and market matching.
- Opportunity for project recommendation and market transformation through the committee's "Key Project Recommendation Plan."
- Access to an incubation platform and funding support to realize design concepts and create prototypes.
- Invitation to visit cultural and creative parks in Mainland China.
Eligibility & Categories
- Eligibility: Open to students, teachers, and designers aged 45 or below (born after June 30, 1976). Categories include Student Group and Young Designer Group.
- Entry is free of charge.

- Digital Multimedia Design (Audio-Visual, Interactive, New Media Comics)
- Product Design (Furniture, Apparel, Healthcare products, etc.)
- Arts and Crafts (Metal, Wood, Fiber, Glass, Ceramics, etc.)
- Spatial Environment (Interior, Architecture, Landscape, Public Art, etc.)

Technical Submission Requirements
Detailed specifications are provided for each category regarding file format (JPG, MP4), size (max 6MB), resolution (min 150-300 dpi), dimensions (A3, A0, A4), and number of files.
Important Notes
- All works must be original and must not infringe on any intellectual property rights.
- Content must be positive and must not contain discrimination, obscenity, violence, defamation, or infringement of rights.
- The organizing committee reserves the right to revoke awards for functional defects, IP infringement, or unauthorized modifications to winning works.
- The organizing committee retains final interpretation rights.
