2019 Hong Kong and Macau University Student Cultural Practice Program Accepting Applications
The 2019 "Hong Kong and Macau University Student Cultural Practice Program," jointly organized by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Ministry of Culture, the Youth Work Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the MSAR, the Hong Kong United Youth Association, and the Macao Foundation, is now accepting applications from March 11, 2019.
About the Program
This program is a key brand project for cultural exchange between mainland China and the youth of Hong Kong and Macau. It aims to:
- Promote the coordinated development of professional knowledge and practical skills among university students from Hong Kong and Macau.
- Deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and the national conditions of the motherland.
The program offers students a five-week work internship at cultural and museum institutions in mainland China. The internship period is enriched with cultural lectures, study visits, and exchange activities.
Key Details
- Target Participants: Full-time Macau residents currently enrolled in local or overseas higher education institutions.
- Internship Period: June 10 to July 15, 2019.
- Internship Institutions: Includes 20 cultural and museum institutions in Beijing (e.g., National Library of China, Palace Museum, National Museum of China, Prince Kung's Palace Museum Management Center) and 11 institutions in Shanghai (e.g., Liu Haisu Art Museum, Power Station of Art, Shanghai Film Museum).
- Certification: Interns who complete the program according to regulations will receive an internship certificate issued by the host institution.

- Application Period: March 11 to 27, 2019.
- How to Apply: Program regulations and application forms are available for download on the websites of the Macao Foundation and the Macao New Chinese Youth Association. Interested applicants can download the forms or collect them at the registration location.
- Submission: Submit the completed application with required documents to the Macao New Chinese Youth Association.
