Sam Hui is revered as the "Godfather of Hong Kong Pop Music." Beginning in 1970, he composed numerous songs with colloquial Cantonese lyrics, blending Western music, Cantonese slang, and contemporary social issues. His work profoundly influenced the development of modern Cantonese pop music. The messages in his music resonated deeply with the grassroots of Hong Kong society, and his relaxed style set the trend for the city's subsequent music scene.
Known as the "Hong Kong Elvis," Sam Hui has released 27 albums in both English and Cantonese. His iconic hits include The Laughing Sea, The Heart of a Wanderer, Six of One and Half a Dozen of the Other, and Silence is Golden. He has also starred in over 25 films.
In 2004, Sam Hui set a record by holding 44 consecutive concerts, the most by any Hong Kong singer in a single year.
Don't miss the chance to witness a true legend of Hong Kong's music scene live. The 2018 Sam Hui World Tour - Macau Station will be held at The Venetian Macao's Cotai Arena.
