The Present Future Film Festival (Macau x Taiwan x Japan), jointly curated by the Macau Federation of Trade Unions, Macau Amateur Continuing Study Centre iCenter, Taiwan Future Image Development Association, and Japan VIDEO PARTY KYOTO, was first held in Macau in 2014. The festival aims to discover outstanding local young video creators, provide public screening opportunities for their works, and bring these works to international film festivals abroad, thereby promoting local short film creation and exploring broader international development platforms.
Now in its fifth consecutive year, the Macau submission call for 2018 concluded on August 10, receiving 37 video and animation works—a 70% increase over previous editions. A total of 16 Macau works were selected for the festival, including 6 animations and 10 video works. The content and themes are diverse, covering hot social issues, living environments, emotions, and memories, reflecting the most authentic aspects of contemporary society. The value of short film appreciation lies in the infinite possibilities of creation. Each screening is like absorbing endless concepts and creativity in a short time, serving as both a spice of life and a mirror to reality.
The selected Macau works, along with a total of 41 works from Taiwan and Japan, will be publicly screened at the iCentre cinema.

After the Macau screenings, some selected works will participate in film festival activities in Taiwan and Japan.
