A story of four singers on different paths in the music industry.
A small singer who loves to sing but has no background, funds, or connections; an idol who seems heaven-favored, held aloft by fans; a powerhouse who found fame abroad but still cares about the future of local music; and a veteran who has seen all the sorrow and darkness of the industry but chooses to laugh it off. Their musical journeys are vastly different—some smooth sailing, others fraught with obstacles—but none are willing to stand still; they all just want to move forward!
Led by Macau Dancer Studio and featuring four local singers—To Chon Wai, Cheng Man Cheng, Ma Man Lei, and Ao Ieong Sio Wa—'I Am a Singer' is adapted from real-life stories. Its hilarious and poignant plot offers both entertainment and food for thought. The lively song and dance numbers highlight the singers' inner loneliness and hardship, while the touch of black humor serves as a heartfelt love letter to Macau's singers.
