2017 Macao International Museum Day Illustration Competition
I. Objective
The theme for this year's International Museum Day Carnival is 'Mobile Museum - Red Market • Drunken Dragon Festival'. It emphasizes the goal of Macao's museums to engage with the community and expand public services, encouraging painting enthusiasts to use their brushes to participate in documenting our Macao.
II. Eligibility
Full-time students in Macao schools and Macao residents can participate individually in one of the following groups:
- Children's Group: Ages 6–12 (born between January 1, 2005, and December 31, 2011).
- Youth Group: Ages 13–18 (born between January 1, 1999, and December 31, 2004).
III. Entry Requirements
- The artwork must be based on either 'Red Market' or 'Drunken Dragon Festival'.
- Each participant may submit only one hand-drawn story illustration.
- The artwork must be hand-drawn on A4-sized paper (29.5cm x 21cm), either portrait or landscape orientation. Computer-generated images are not accepted.
- Any painting materials and colors are allowed, but works with collage elements are not accepted.
IV. Prizes
Winning entries will be awarded certificates.
V. Registration & Submission
- Complete the registration form and submit it along with the artwork to the Communications Museum (by hand or by mail).
- Office Hours: Monday to Sunday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM (closed on public holidays).
- Submission Deadline: Sunday, April 9, 2017, by 5:30 PM. Late submissions will not be considered.
VI. Judging
The organizing body will invite professionals from the arts and culture fields to serve as judges. The judges' decision is final.
VII. Declaration
- Personal data collected on the registration form will only be used for this event and will be handled in accordance with Macao SAR's Personal Data Protection Law.
- Current employees of public or private museums in Macao are not eligible to participate.
- Submitted works may be exhibited during International Museum Day events. The organizing body reserves the right to reproduce, publish, and translate submitted works for other exhibitions or promotional purposes without seeking the participant's consent or providing compensation.
- Any entry found to violate the requirements will be disqualified. Winners found in violation will be required to return all awards.
- Submitted works will not be returned to participants. The organizing body holds the copyright and usage rights to winning entries.
- The organizing body reserves the right to amend these rules as necessary.
