In response to World Social Work Day on March 15, the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS), in collaboration with local social service organizations, professional bodies, and higher education institutions, is organizing a series of events from March to May 2016. The aim is to raise public awareness of social work, enhance the professional image of social workers, and foster a sense of identity and belonging among practitioners.

1. Seminar: "From Research to Service - Promoting Service Innovation"

- Location: Lecture Hall 1, 1st Floor, Wui Chi Building, Macao Polytechnic Institute
- Details: Scholars from neighboring regions will share insights on how government, academia, and the public can collaborate to advance social services, from academic research to practical application.
- Target Audience: Social service professionals, service users, and social work students.
2. "North Star" Social Worker Recognition Ceremony & "Social Work Spirit Inheritance" Lecture
- Date: April 23, 2016

- Location: Hall 4-5, 4th Floor Grand Auditorium, Macau Tower
- Details: A ceremony to honor social workers who have made long-term contributions to society, followed by a lecture on the inheritance of the social work spirit.
- Target Audience: Frontline social workers and the general public. All citizens are welcome.
3. Seminar: "Challenges Facing the Professionalization of Social Work in Macao"
- Date: May 7, 2016
- Time: 2:00 PM
- Location: Auditorium, St. Paul's School
- Details: Scholars from various regions will discuss the challenges that professionalization brings to Macao's social workers and explore suggestions for enhancing the profession.
