Event Overview

Organized by the Macao Federation of Neighbourhood Associations, the 2016 Neighbourhood Cup is a community badminton tournament open to Macao residents.

• Dates: November 12–13, 2016 (Saturday & Sunday)
• Time: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Eligibility & Registration Rules

• Eligibility: Macao residents only.
  • Participants must represent a sub-association, center, school, or friendly organization under the Federation. The registration form must bear the official seal of that institution.
  • Players who participated in any tournament organized by the Macao Badminton Association between 2014 and 2015 are not eligible.
• Registration Rules:
  • Categories: Men's Singles (32 teams), Men's Doubles (32 teams), Women's Singles (16 teams), Women's Doubles (16 teams), Mixed Doubles (16 teams). First-come, first-served.
  • Categories with fewer than 4 registered teams will be canceled.
  • Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • Participants who were absent or withdrew without reason in the 'Neighbourhood Cup' during the past two years will be placed on a waiting list.
• Registration Forms: Available at the 4th floor of the Federation's Community Service Building, its affiliated associations/centers, or for download on the Federation's website (http://www.ugamm.org.mo).

Competition Format & Rules

• Each eligible participant may enter a maximum of two events. No seeding.
• All matches follow the new international badminton rally-point scoring system.
• Format: Best-of-three games, 15 points per game. No setting (no deuce). The first player/team to win two games advances.
• Players must report to the venue 30 minutes before their scheduled match.
• Players who fail to appear within 5 minutes of being called by the referee will be disqualified.
• Players must present a valid Macao Resident Identity Card to the referee or match coordinator for verification before each match.
• Players must provide their own rackets and wear appropriate sports attire. The organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify players for non-compliance.
• The organizing committee reserves the right to modify the competition format, dates, or venue as necessary.
