About the Campaign

While the global number of people facing hunger is decreasing, approximately 800 million people still suffer from hunger. In some countries, prolonged civil wars have led to severe food crises, with over half of the affected being children. The scale of the issue remains immense, and we must continue to persevere in 'Bridging the World with Love'.

The 'Macau Famine' is an educational promotion and fundraising campaign actively organized to give a voice to those affected by hunger. We hope for your continued support for the 2016 'Macau Famine' series of activities, encouraging Macau citizens to pay attention to the needs of children and adults still suffering from hunger.

Campaign Theme & Activities

The 2016 theme is 'Bridging the World with Love'. The campaign includes a variety of activities designed to raise awareness and funds:

• Charity sales by organizations
• 'Famine Meal' events
• School-based famine activities
• 'One Person, One Lai See' (red envelope) donation drive
• Flag-selling fundraiser
• All-Macau Primary School Student Blessing Card Design Competition
• 10-Hour Famine Camp
