Competition Overview
This competition invites all Macau residents to create a practical item using discarded materials as the primary resource. Examples include decorative paintings, towels, cushions, curtains, and more. Themes can range from landscapes, flowers, people, and animals to seas, rivers, skies, stars, or anything your imagination can conjure!
Competition Objectives
To encourage recycling, reduce waste, and enhance public awareness of waste reduction at the source and environmental protection by creating handicrafts from discarded materials.
Competition Rules
- Maximum dimensions: 1.5 meters in height and 1.5 meters in diameter.
- The judging panel comprises professionals, handicraft experts, and IACM representatives.
- Judging Criteria:
- Most aligned with the competition theme
- Most creative
- Material combination and durability
- Technical perfection
Categories & Prizes
Open Category (All ages)
- First Prize: MOP 5,000 and a trophy
- Second Prize: MOP 4,000 and a trophy
- Third Prize: MOP 3,000 and a trophy
- Five Merit Prizes: MOP 500 and a trophy each
Youth Category (Ages 12–16)
- First Prize: MOP 3,000 and a trophy
- Second Prize: MOP 2,000 and a trophy
- Third Prize: MOP 1,000 and a trophy
- Five Merit Prizes: MOP 400 and a trophy each
Junior Category (Ages 6–11)
- First Prize: MOP 1,500 and a trophy
- Second Prize: MOP 1,000 and a trophy
- Third Prize: MOP 750 and a trophy
- Five Merit Prizes: MOP 300 and a trophy each

Participants must submit their entries at one of the following locations between April 12 and May 16, 2014, by 5:00 PM:

- Central District Citizen Service Centre (3/F, Lam Van Municipal Complex, No. 5 & 7 Rotunda de Carlos da Maia)
- Northern District Citizen Service Centre (Government Services Building, 52 Rua Nova de Areia Preta)
- Islands District Citizen Service Centre (75K Rua do Regedor, Bairro do Povo, Taipa)
- Flora Garden Environmental Information Centre (Estrada de Adolfo Loureiro)

- Participation is limited to Macau residents only.
- All submitted works become the property of the organizer.
- The organizer's judging committee holds the final decision-making authority.
- The organizer is not responsible for any damage to works during transportation.

- Winners will be announced on the IACM Environmental Information webpage on June 5, 2014.
