Event Overview
The 2014-2015 China Middle School Student Essay Competition (Macau Region) is now open for submissions. This prestigious national competition, first held in 2005, aims to promote Chinese culture, foster patriotism, and enhance the writing skills and moral character of middle school students.

Competition Structure
- Preliminary Round (Macau Region): Held in mid-December 2014. Up to 20 outstanding works from both the Junior and Senior divisions (40 total) will be selected to advance to the national level.
- National Semi-Finals: Held from January to February 2015. National judges will select finalists from all regional submissions.
- National Finals: Held in Shanghai in April 2015. The finals will consist of on-site writing, cultural knowledge tests, and oral examinations.
Eligibility & Divisions
- Eligibility: All full-time middle school students in Macau.
- Divisions:
- Junior Division (Grades 7-9)
- Senior Division (Grades 10-12)
How to Apply
- Method: Submit application materials in person or via email to the Macau Youth Federation.
- Required Documents:
- Completed application form
- One 1.5-inch color headshot on a white background
- Original student ID card (to be presented at registration)
Prizes & Awards
- Macau Region: 20 Excellence Awards for each division (Junior & Senior).
- National Finals: Special awards for all finalists and their supervising teachers. The top national prize is the "Hengyuanxiang Literary Star" award.
Rules & Regulations
- Essays must be based on the official competition topics.
- Submissions must be original, unpublished work.
- Each participant may submit only one entry.
- Essays must be typed in Chinese on A4 paper and submitted with an electronic Word file (simplified or traditional Chinese accepted).
- The organizing committee reserves the right to publish winning entries without further consent.
