Overview

A series of activities designed to enhance participants' understanding of volunteer work and social services in Macao. The program aims to establish positive life values, build confidence, and foster a sense of social responsibility among young people, encouraging their ongoing participation in volunteerism.

Objectives

• Enhance participants' concepts and understanding of volunteer work.
• Increase knowledge of local social services and volunteer activities in Macao.
• Help participants establish positive life values and build self-confidence.
• Deepen their sense of social participation and responsibility.
• Inspire youth to reflect on the importance of volunteer work and encourage continued involvement.

Target Participants

1. Tertiary students enrolled in higher education institutions in Macao.
2. Macao tertiary students studying at institutions outside Macao.

Registration Details

• Registration Venue: Macao Community Youth Volunteer Development Association (2D, Royal Building, 50 Avenida de Horta e Costa)
• Registration Procedure: Submit the completed application form along with the fee to the association.
• Note: If the number of applicants exceeds the recruitment quota, the organizer will conduct a selection process.

Activity Schedule

Activity 1: Grand 'Volunteer' Kick-off

• Content: Series briefing and social service workshop.
• Date: March 23 (Saturday)
• Location: To be confirmed

Activity 2: Social Service 'Volunteer' Encounter

• Content:
  1. Visits to social service institutions in Macao.
  2. Participation in at least 6 hours of social service activities arranged by the association.
• Date: March to May
• Location: Various districts in Macao

Activity 3: Three-Act 'Volunteer' Deconstruction

• Content:
  1. Participants, in groups of 3-4, deliver presentations on the theme of social volunteer service in Macao.
  2. Submit a personal report of no less than 1,000 words.
• Date: June 15-16 (Saturday & Sunday)
• Location: To be confirmed

Activity 4: New 'Volunteer' Exchange Experience (Singapore)

• Content: Selected outstanding participants will visit Singapore to explore local volunteer organizations, understand the characteristics of volunteer work in different regions, and visit famous landmarks such as the Civilian War Memorial and Merlion Park.
• Date: Late September (To be confirmed)
• Note: Participants are required to pay approximately HKD 1,000 for the Singapore visit (excluding visa and airport taxes).

Activity 5: 'Volunteer' Harmony Sharing Session

• Content: Photo and video appreciation of the series, sharing of activity experiences and feelings.
• Date: Late October 2013
