Event Overview

Thingyan, the Water Festival, is a traditional celebration in Myanmar to welcome the New Year in April. Macau residents from Myanmar express their holiday cheer by splashing each other with water, which is believed to cleanse the soul and bring good fortune. This exotic funfest, now in its 19th year in Macau, includes a colorful parade, food carnival, folk dancing, Water Festival Carnival and photography exhibition, along with a lot of watery fun.
