Objective
By supporting the Postage Stamp Design Competition organized by Korea Post, the Communications Museum aims to promote stamp collection and international cultural exchange, as well as to encourage those interested in painting to participate in stamp design.
Themes
- New Year Greetings of the Year 2015 (New Year, New Hope): Freely express the sights, expectations, and pleasure of the New Year. Winning designs will be issued as New Year's Greetings stamps in December 2014.
- Stamp Collecting: Symbolically express the process of learning human history and expanding knowledge through stamp collecting.
Eligibility
- Youth Category: Students attending elementary, middle, or high schools, or those born after January 1, 1995.
- University Student / General Category: University students or those born before December 31, 1994.
Submission Guidelines
- Number of Entries: No limit (one person may submit works for both themes).
- Size of Design: 15 cm (width) × 20 cm (length) or 20 cm (width) × 15 cm (length).
- Format: Attach the entry work to the front of an A4-sized hardboard and the application form to the back. Submit in person or by registered mail.
- Originality: Only works (including computer graphics) not submitted to other contests are accepted. Original copies must be submitted. (Note: For computer graphics, include a soft copy on a disk).
- Materials: No restrictions on materials or colors, but three-dimensional works are not accepted.
- Design: The design shall not incorporate postage stamp names (themes, subtitles), denomination, or year of issue.
- Application and Submission Period:
- Via Communications Museum: Submit to the Communications Museum (Estrada de D. Maria II, No 7, Macau) by September 13, 2013. (Note: Only works submitted by Macao residents through the Museum that win the Grand Prize or Gold Prize are eligible for flight sponsorship by Macao Post).
- Directly to Korea Post: Overseas works must arrive at Korea Post on or before September 30, 2013. Mailing address: Postage Stamps & Philately Division, KOREA POST, 6 Jongno Jongno-gu, Seoul 110-110, Republic of Korea.
Screening and Announcement
- Judges: Experts in fine arts and philately, appointed by Korea Post.
- Screening Period: October 2013.
- Announcement of Winners: 20 winning entries will be announced on the Korea Post website on October 25, 2013.
Prize Awarding
An awards ceremony will be held in November 2013 in Korea.
