Event Overview
The 11th Macao New Year's Concert 2019 presents a special cultural exchange to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to China. The Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra invites the renowned Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil (Portuguese Youth Symphony Orchestra) from Lisbon for a joint performance, symbolizing the bridge between Chinese and Portuguese musical traditions.

About the Orchestras
Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil (OSJ)
- Founded in 1973, a fundamental institution in Portugal's music education.
- Portugal's only active year-round youth orchestra with about 90 members from various music schools in the Greater Lisbon area.
- Has performed over 800 works ranging from the 17th to the 21st centuries.
Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra
- The host orchestra organizing this special New Year's concert to foster Sino-Portuguese youth cultural exchange.
