Course Overview

Sketching is a fundamental and required subject for painting. It trains our ability to express light and shadow, three-dimensionality, space, texture, and composition of objects. It is an effective way to improve observational skills in drawing. To master portrait sketching, life drawing practice is essential. Only through direct observation of real subjects with the eyes can one enhance observation and expressive abilities.

The iCentre sketching course adopts an academic, step-by-step teaching method, focusing on life drawing practice. It emphasizes foundational training in portrait sketching and incorporates commercial sketching techniques for students who need them. This lays a solid foundation for students to further study color painting or meet professional needs. The instructor will provide live demonstrations in class, balancing theory with practice.
