Program Content
Students will be grouped according to their proficiency level and age. Portuguese will be the primary language of instruction, supplemented by English. The course aims to achieve simple, everyday communication in Portuguese. All teaching materials are designed by the instructors before arriving in Macau, with a focus on using games to spark interest in learning Portuguese. Language teaching channels (such as music, stories, movies, food, sports, dance, drama, etc.) are based on shared conceptual channels to overcome language barriers.
Teaching Features
- Excellent Overseas Instructors: Foreign instructors are current students or graduates from Portugal's top university, Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Most hold master's degrees and have received professional training in Portuguese language teaching.
- Small Class Teaching: A ratio of 2 instructors to a maximum of 10 students per group ensures attention to each student's needs.
- Activity-Based Teaching: Drawing on the European secondary school project research model, teaching revolves around thematic projects to enhance student interest.
- Intensive Conversation: Three weeks of uninterrupted Portuguese immersion allows students to build friendships with instructors and experience European study life.
- University Preview: A rare opportunity to understand Portuguese university life, aiding students in future overseas studies.
Course Details
- Dates: July 9 to July 27 (3-week program); Monday to Friday.
- Location: Escola Luso-Chinesa Técnico-Profissional (Macau Sino-Portuguese Technical and Vocational Secondary School).
- Target Participants: Macau secondary school students, university students, and all Portuguese language enthusiasts.
- Fee: MOP 850.
- Application Deadline: From now until June 30.
All levels are welcome, from absolute beginners and basic learners to advanced or fluent Portuguese speakers.
