Program Introduction
Hiukok Theatre's Annual Production presents the black comedy 'The Damned BUG'.
Story Synopsis
In a cha chaan teng (tea restaurant) hidden in a back alley of a casino, a fallen gangster enjoys his last supper – dry-fried beef hor fun – in an illegally built secret room. The situation becomes increasingly complex with the arrival of a fleeing woman and a reckless student, creating a plot within a plot. As the time for escape draws near and the smuggling boat docks, the restaurant is visited by a group of uninvited guests: police officers on a late-night snack run and undocumented workers. The secret room becomes a trap with no way out. Everyone tries desperately to leave the restaurant, but the situation escalates until it spirals out of control.
This play contains strong language and is not suitable for audiences under 13 years of age.
