Course Introduction

Sketching is an essential foundational subject in painting. It trains our ability to express an object's light and shadow, three-dimensionality, space, texture, and composition. It is an effective way to improve observational drawing skills. To master figure sketching, training through life drawing is essential. Only by directly observing real subjects with our eyes can we enhance our observation and expressive abilities.

The iCentre sketching course adopts an academic, step-by-step teaching method, focusing on life drawing training. It emphasizes foundational figure sketching training and incorporates commercial sketching techniques for students who require them. This lays a solid foundation for students to further study color painting or meet professional needs. The instructor will provide live demonstrations in class, balancing theory with practice.
