Background

The association has consistently organized volunteer service training courses to cultivate youth's spirit of care, teamwork, and helping skills. Over the years, it has trained over a hundred elite young volunteers, injecting vitality into Macau's volunteer services.

The 2014 Volunteer Service Worker Training adopts the theme 'Experiencing Community' and is divided into a beginner class and an advanced class. It aims to train a group of young volunteers who understand the state of Macau's social services and are equipped with community activity and teamwork skills, thereby promoting professional and effective voluntary work. The beginner class was successfully held earlier, with many participants finding the activities eye-opening, rewarding, and a great way to challenge themselves.

Objectives

The program aims to attract youth from diverse backgrounds to understand the overall landscape of social services in Macau. Through practical activities, it seeks to train young individuals with teamwork spirit and community service skills, encouraging them to proactively care for society and the underprivileged, and to use their own abilities to give back to the community.

Through this advanced training course, participants are expected to gain the following:

• An understanding of the development and current state of Macau's social services, including the overall social welfare situation, youth services, elderly services, and mental health rehabilitation services.
• Teamwork spirit and leadership skills.
• Self-awareness and improved interpersonal communication skills through practical activities.
• Knowledge of event organization techniques and the ability to apply learned knowledge through practical activities.
